Brève description

Example project demonstrating how to build a Spring Modulith application on the jEAP platform.

Description détaillée

Spring Modulith structures a Spring Boot application into application modules that are verified at build time and integrated through asynchronous application events rather than direct calls. This repository shows how such an application is built on the jEAP platform: the modules are integrated through internal asynchronous events backed by the JDBC event publication registry, an external event is consumed from Kafka with jEAP messaging, failed message processing is handed over to the jEAP Error Handling Service, and the REST API is protected by the jEAP security starter using semantic roles for the domain-facing modules. It contains the following modules: * jme-spring-modulith-scs: The Spring Modulith example service with its five application modules order, inventory, notification, shipping and messaging

  • jme-spring-modulith-auth-scs: An instance of the jEAP OAuth mock server used as authorization server
  • jme-spring-modulith-error-scs: An instance of the jEAP Error Handling Service * jme-spring-modulith-test: Automated integration tests covering the local Docker Compose setup

Fonctionnalités

  • Demonstrates internal asynchronous events between application modules with @ApplicationModuleListener
  • Demonstrates the JDBC event publication registry and its at-least-once delivery guarantee
  • Demonstrates the retry of an internal asynchronous event whose processing fails, and what happens when the retries are exhausted
  • Demonstrates consuming an external Kafka event and reporting failures to the jEAP Error Handling Service
  • Demonstrates authorization with jEAP semantic roles for domain-facing application modules
  • Verifies the module boundaries at build time and generates module documentation
  • Local Docker Compose setup with Kafka, a schema registry and PostgreSQL
